What is Primary Care?
Primary care is the foundation of Ontario’s health system — it’s where most people begin their health journey and where ongoing care is coordinated.
Led by family doctors and nurse practitioners, primary care teams include interprofessional providers who:
- Support people at every stage of life.
- Promote health and well-being.
- Connect patients to specialists and community resources.
- Prevent, identify, and treat illness.
- Together, we’re working to strengthen access to comprehensive, team-based primary care for everyone in West Parry Sound.
